Healthy Teen Eating

Healthy teen eating starts at home; teens will eat what they have in their reach. So the easiest way to start eating healthier is to change the food you keep at home, get rid of the sodas and buy more fruits.

That's pretty easy right.

The next big step is learning proper portions, in today's world teens are surrounded with offers of more food, every fast food place you go to has a biggie size, a super size, or an option to upgrade to more food and soda for $0.39 or however much the going rate is.

We need to learn that eating until our stomach hurts is wrong and that eating until we are satisfied or until we aren't hungry any more is the right way to go.

This is the problem that most people face these days, we just keep eating, we eat until we are satisfied, then we eat some more, then we start to feel our stomach stretching, and decide that we still need to finish the food we ordered. AND THEN we have desert.

I'm sure you can see the problem.

The good news is that it doesn't have to be this way, we can all change, it's not hard, it just takes a little more effort than saying "can you supersize that."

Another great way to promote healthy teen eating habits is to encourage water drinking. It's simple if you are going to eat a meal drink a glass of water or two before to fill your stomach a little so it takes less food to fill you.

Also by drinking water throughout the day you will feel less hungry because water is a natural hunger suppressant.
